Who we are
Alvarez Builders, Inc. ("Alvarez Builders", "we", "us", or "our") is a full-service residential construction company building custom homes, remodels, additions, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs) for homeowners across the San Francisco Bay Area. We are licensed and insured in the State of California under CSLB License #1065484. This policy explains what information we collect through our website at alvarez-builders.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What personal information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a limited amount of technical information your browser sends automatically.
Information you provide. When you submit our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, the type of project you're planning, the city your project is in, and whatever details you write in the message field.
Information collected automatically. When you submit the form we also record your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the page you submitted from. We use these to prevent spam and abuse, not to build a profile of you.
We do not collect health information, government identifiers, or payment card details through this website, and we do not ask you to create an account.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, schedule and prepare for consultations, quote and deliver construction work, keep records of our correspondence, and meet our legal and licensing obligations. With your consent, we also use aggregate analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Contact forms and quote requests
Contact form submissions are delivered to our team by email and stored in our content management system so we can follow up. We keep them for customer-service and record-keeping purposes; we do not add you to a marketing list from a contact form submission without telling you.
If you give us your phone number, you agree we may contact you at that number about your enquiry, by call or text. Standard message and data rates may apply, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
Mobile opt-in consent and phone numbers collected for SMS messaging purposes are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances.
Cookies and your consent choices
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use a first-party cookie to remember your privacy choices, and, only if you allow them, cookies set by the analytics and advertising services described below.
When you first visit, a consent banner asks you to choose. Nothing in the Performance or Marketing categories loads until you make that choice, and choosing "Reject all" keeps them switched off. Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie named fc_consent and is remembered for up to one year, or until you change it.
We group cookies into three categories: Essential Cookies, which are always on because the site cannot work without them and which include the cookie that remembers this very choice; Performance Cookies, which power the analytics described below; and Marketing Cookies, which measure our advertising. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the link in the footer of every page.
Analytics and advertising
With your consent we use third-party services to measure how our website is used and how well our advertising performs. These services set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, including pages viewed and general location derived from your IP address.
- Google Analytics: website traffic measurement provided by Google. See Google's Privacy & Terms. You can also opt out across all sites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta Pixel: advertising measurement provided by Meta Platforms. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
If you decline these categories, or you have not yet made a choice, these services are not loaded and receive nothing about your visit.
Who we share your information with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run this website and respond to enquiries, and only as far as they need it to do that work. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. These currently include our website host (Vercel), our database and authentication provider (Supabase), and our email delivery provider (MailerSend), together with the analytics and advertising services listed above where you have consented.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our clients, our team, or the public.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry and project correspondence for as long as needed to serve you and to satisfy the record-keeping obligations that apply to licensed contractors in California, then delete or anonymize it. Analytics data is retained according to each provider's own retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information sooner; see below.
How we protect your information
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the whole site, access controls that limit staff access to those who need it, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take these safeguards seriously.
Data breach procedures
If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will investigate promptly, take steps to contain it, and notify affected individuals and the appropriate authorities where the law requires us to.
Your privacy rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your cookie consent at any time from the footer link. We may need to keep certain records for legal, tax, or licensing reasons. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity first.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, the right to request a copy of it, the right to request its deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell or share your personal informationas those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. The categories we collect are identifiers (name, email address, phone number, IP address), commercial information (the project details you tell us about), and internet activity (pages viewed, if you consent to analytics). We collect them for the business purposes described in "How we use your information" above.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or 650-885-5398. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Third-party links
Our website may link to other websites, including our social media profiles and the providers named above. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies separately.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults planning construction work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
